OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Eligibility of Permanently Disabled Son of a CGHS Beneficiary to avail CGHS
facility.
In terms of the Office Memorandum of even number dated 07.05.2018, unmarried permanently disabled and
financially dependent sons of CGHS beneficiary suffering 40% or more of one or more disabilities as specified
in the O.M. will continue to avail CGHS facility even after attaining the age of 25 years. However, the son above the age of
25 years, in cases where disability has occurred after attaining the age of 25 years, is at present not
considered as dependent for availing medical facilities under CGHS as per extant policy.
2. The matter has been engaging the attention of this Ministry for quite some past. It has now been decided
that such son(s) above 25 years, in cases where the disability has occurred after attaining the age of 25
years can be considered as dependent for availing medical facilities under CGHS, subject to fulfillment of
all other conditions as mentioned in the O.M. dated 07.05.2018.
3. This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
CGHS - Permission for Investigations/Treatment

Permission is required for getting listed Investigations/ Treatment
Procedures done at the CGHS empanelled Diagnostic Centres/Hospitals, if
prescribed by CGHS Medical Officer/ CMO Incharge or Government Hospital
specialist.
Listed Investigations/Treatment Procedures prescribed
by a specialist of empanelled hospital need to be endorsed by the
referring CGHS Medical Officer/ CMO Incharge, however permission is not
required in this case also.
For unlisted Investigations/Treatment
Procedures permission is required from the AD of the City/Zone in case
of pensioners and Head of Department/Office in case of serving
employees. However for pensioners of Autonomous bodies the permission is
to be given by the concerned department only.
Procedure for getting the investigations done by an empanelled
Diagnostic centre/Hospital
The following documents are required to be submitted:
1. Self attested copy of prescription of CGHS Doctor / Government
specialist
2. Copy of CGHS Card of the patient and main card
holder.
3. Original Prescription and Original Cards are to be produced
at the centre for verification.
Investigation can be done within 14 days of the advice only. Procedure for getting for any treatment procedure done at an
empanelled hospital
The following documents are required:
1. Self attested copy of prescription of CGHS Doctor / Government
specialist
2. Copy of CGHS Card of the patient and main card
holder.
3. Original Prescription and Original Cards are to be produced
at the centre for verification.
Treatment procedures can be done within 3 months of the advice
only.
CGHS package rates of Delhi shall be treated as ECHS package rates in
Mumbai

CGHS has vide its OM S-11011/222017/CGHS-HEC dt 03 Apr 2017 revised the
rate of Mumbai from 2010 to Delhi 2014 rates as an interim measure.
4.
Regional Centre ECHS Mumbai would disseminate the new rates to
empanelled hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and imaging centres,
SEMO's Stn HQr's & ECHS polyclinics.
5. The provedures and
CGHS package rates of Delhi shall hereafter be treated as ECHS package
rates for hospitals, diagnostic laboratories & imaging centres under
Regional centre ECHS Mumbai and the rates would be applicable from the
date of issue of this letter.

empanelled hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and imaging
centres under
CGHS, Mumbai and to state that it has now been decided by
competent
authority to revise the CGHS package for empanelled HCOs under
CGHS,
Mumbai as per 2014 CGHS rates of Delhi as an interim measure,
till
further orders.

2. CGHS has revised the rates for various treatment procedures vide
their OM No S-11011/48/2014-CGHS (HEC) dt 18 Feb 2015. The rates of

2. Reimbursement to beneficiaries/ empanelled hospitals shall be
limited to ceiling rate or as per actuals, whichever is lower. The other
terms and conditions as regards to CGHS package rates remain unchanged.
3. The revised rates shall come into force for ECHS from the date of
issue and shall be in force till further orders and are applicable in
all cities.
Latest list of CGHS Hospitals & Revised Package Rates effective from 1.10.2014
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
published the detailed list of new Hospitals, Eye, Dental and Diagnostic
Centres under Central Government Health Scheme. The fresh empanelment
of private Health Care Orgnizations (HCOs) and revision of package rates
applicable under CGHS Delhi and NCR.
The Directorate of General of Central
Government Health Scheme issued an office memorandum, which states the
revised rates and terms & conditions will come into effect from 1st
October 2014. The new empanelment shall be for a period of two years
from 1.10.2014.
