CONFEDERATION ONE DAY STRIKE ON 15-11-2018 POSTPONED TO 2019 JANUARY 8th & 9th.

TWO DAYS STRIKE JOINTLY WITH CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS AND ALL INDIA STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FEDERATION (AISGEF).

NO CHANGE IN THE CHARTER OF DEMANDS

SCRAP NPS WILL BE THE NUMBER ONE DEMAND.

Dear Comrades,
As you are aware, in the National Convention of Workers held at Mavlankar Hall, New Delhi on 28th September 2018, all the Central Trade Unions (except BMS) and all other independent Federations have declared two days nationwide strike on 8th & 9th January 2019 against the anti-people and anti-labour policies of the NDA Government.

In the resolution adopted in the June 10th Hyderabad National Convention of Confederation and also in the National Secretariat meeting held thereafter, we have decided that the 2018 November 15th strike of Confederation will be changed, if the Central Trade Unions declare nationwide strike, so that the dates of both strikes will be synchronized to make it a joint strike.

Accordingly, the National Secretariat of Confederation has decided to postpone the 15th November 2018 strike to 2019 JANUARY 8th & 9th. The strike will be for two days. There is no change in the Confederation charter of demands.

SCRAP NPS AND RESTORE OPS FOR ALL

will be the number one demand. All India State Government Employees Federation has also decided to postpone the strike to 2019 JANUARY 8th & 9th.

A press statement regarding Nationwide One Day Strike today (16.3.2017) published by the General Secretary of Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers.

PRESS STATEMENT
Dated 16th March 2017

About thirteen (13) lakhs Central Government employees went on nationwide one day strike today (16.03.2017) as per the call of Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers. The Strike was organized to protest against the betrayal of the Group of Cabinet Ministers of NDA Government by not honoring the assurances given to the National Joint Council of Action on 30th June 2016. Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has assured that a High Level Committee will be appointed to negotiate and settle the issues arising out of 7th Pay Commission inducing increase in Minimum pay, Fitment formula, Allowances etc. within a period of four months. Based on this assurance the Federations had deferred the proposed indefinite strike from 11th July 2016. Even after a lapse of eight months the assurances are not fulfilled.

Government issued orders to deal with the strike threatening imposition of break-in Service, suspension and dismissal in addition to dies-non. Employees participated in the strike defying such orders.

In Postal department about five Lakhs employees participated in the strike. INTUC Federation also jointed the strike in Postal. All RMS Offices and major post offices remained closed. Income Tax deparment the strike was total in all states as both employees and officers went on strike. Employees of Audit and Accounts department Civil Accounts, Ground Water Board, Botanical Survey Of India, Postal Accounts Survey Of India, Atomic Energy, Indian Space Research Printing and Stationery, Indian Bureau of Mines, Geological Survey of India, AGMARK, Central Government Health Scheme, Medical Stores depot, Film Institute Of India, Indian Council of Medical Research, Customs and Central Excise, Central Food Laboratory, Census, Defence Accounts and various other autonomous and scientific Research institutions participated in the nation wide strike.

 Strike was total in Kerala, West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Odisha, Telangana, Chattisgarh, Assam, North Eastern states including Tripura, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Maharashtra. 70 to 80% participation in Andhra, Punjab, Gujarat, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, 60 to 70% in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, 40 to 50% in Delhi and Rajasthan 30% in Himachal.

Solidarity demonstrations were conducted by All India State Government Employees Federation, BSNL Employees Unions, Central Pensioners organisations, All India Defence Employees Federation and many other organizations.

The National Secretariat of the Confederation thanked and Congratulated the employees who made the nationwide strike a resounding success.

Bank employees to observe one-day strike on July 29

Chennai: Public and private sector bank employees have decided to observe a day-long strike on July 29 to oppose the “anti-people” banking reform policies of the Centre, AIBEA said today.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) consisting of nine trade unions across the country representing 10 lakh bank employees and officers would observe the strike.

They are pressing for various demands including not to privatise public sector banks and increase private capital in such banks, and also protesting against FDI in banking sector.

Besides, the unions oppose move to privatise regional rural banks, co-operative banks, consolidate and merging banks among others, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) General Secretary C H Venkatachalam said in a statement.

The decision to go on strike was taken at the meeting here organised by UFBU.

Joint Council of Action of Income Tax Employees Federation (ITEF) and Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association (ITGOA) representing 97% of the entire work force of Income Tax Department has decided to organize series of agitational programme culminating in one day strike action on 8th October 2015. The Joint Circular issued by ITEF and ITGOA is enclosed herewith. All C-O-Cs and affiliated Organisations of Confederation are requested to extend full support and solidarity to agitational programme mentioned therein, especially the One day strike on 8th October 2015.
